Acadiana EAP's Crisis Intervention Team offers comprehensive support to help individuals and organizations move effectively through crisis situations. We provide the security your company needs to protect against the unexpected.

Initiating Critical Incident Assistance

When a critical incident occurs, simply follow the checklist below.

Call Acadiana EAP at 337.993.0000 or 888.327.7300 and provide the following:

    • Description of the incident (Acadiana EAP will ask for details)
    • Status of incident (current, past, or pending)
    • Media Awareness (aware, unaware, or not applicable)

What is a Critical Incident?

Any event that may bring a significant level of stress and trauma to the organization and its employees is a critical incident. It may be the tragic loss of an employee in a work or non-work related accident, the result of violence in the workplace, or the loss of a facility which results in lay-offs and/or increased distribution of workload. If an event causes a high level of human emotion, capable of leading to lowered productivity and performance, it is deemed a critical incident.
