Frequently Asked Questions Who is Acadiana EAP? Acadiana EAP, LLC is a full service EAP company, which has operated in Acadiana since 1996. From its early beginnings, Acadiana EAP has prided itself on being a business founded on integrity. Whether serving small regional companies or international Fortune 200 corporations, Acadiana EAP has been dedicated to serving both employee and employer in providing the best and most comprehensive EAP services.
Responsiveness to client issues is paramount. Acadiana EAP actively listens to customer concerns and issues so that we can provide the most cost-effective and appropriate service possible. That is why we maintain a comprehensive website to serve customers with information, reporting, and tools (e.g., On-line Wellness Library). Acadiana EAP also offers web-based 360° assessment services for the evaluation of personnel and programs.
Our success is our client's success. When we perform well by helping people resolve their personal and family problems, or by helping organizations with critical incident management, educational services, or management consulting, our clients achieve better financial performance due to a more productive and focused workforce.
What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
Traditionally, EAPs were passive organizations that dealt almost solely with drug and alcohol related employee problems. Today, the vast array of personal issues, which affect employee performance and productivity, coupled with the dynamic and competitive nature of the business environment, requires EAPs to be active consultants and integral parts of an organization's human resource objectives. A full service EAP will provide assessment and counseling services, educational programs for supervisors and subordinates, critical incident assistance, and a broad range of management consulting services.
As an employee, how can I use the EAP?
Each arrangement is different between the EAP and client organization. It is best to refer to your HR Department for details. However, in general, an employee may be referred to the EAP by self or a supervisor. That is to say, you can call the EAP and make your own arrangements under the terms of the contract with your company or independent from any contract, or your supervisor may refer you if you are having performance problems that are due to specific personal issues.
Are my visits to the EAP confidential?
ABSOLUTELY. Any EAP of integrity will guarantee confidentiality. Your discussions and counseling sessions are protected by confidentiality laws and will not be shared with your employer. If you were referred to the EAP by a supervisor due to performance problems, the EAP is only obligated to communicate to the employer whether you made and attended your appointments or not.
What is the benefit of an EAP?
An effective EAP is designed to:
* Help improve employee performance and reduce absenteeism/turnover.
* Strengthen the working relationship between employee and supervisor.
* Reduce healthcare costs via preventative and proactive measures.
* Help establish your reputation as an employee-centered organization.
When your workforce takes their problems to the EAP rather than to work, productivity and financial performance increases. Within the first year of implementing an EAP, companies have found as much as a 60% reduction in absenteeism; 65% reduction in work-related accidents; and far fewer worker's compensation claims.
